As a cat parent, leaving town should come with peace of mind, but finding a place worthy of your cat rarely does. Most boarding experiences feel transactional, designed to manage cats rather than indulge them. Even cat sitting, while familiar and convenient, can still fall short of the high standards most cats believe they deserve.
BAST is an eco-luxury boutique hotel created exclusively for feline guests, designed entirely around the instincts, behaviors, and perceived self-importance of cats.
BRAND NAME & MARK
The name BAST draws from Bastet, the ancient Egyptian goddess depicted as a cat. Inspired by ancient Bastet statues, particularlyThe Gayer-Anderson Cat, observed firsthand at the British Museum, the logo mark abstracts the feline silhouette into a refined symbol of luxury hospitality.
IMAGE GENERATION
This project required building a world that did not exist.
I could not find imagery that captured the specificity, realism, and consistency needed to fully immerse viewers in the world of BAST. Rather than sourcing existing visuals, I created them.
Using Midjourney V5.2 alongside extensive visual direction and refinement, I developed a controlled image generation workflow where every environment, texture, and atmosphere was intentionally shaped around the brand’s eco-luxury hotel narrative.
COLOR PALETTE
The palette is rooted in materiality.
Warm neutrals, muted greens, and soft earth tones draw from natural textures and materials, reflecting the quiet luxury and environmental consciousness of the BAST experience.
BRAND EXPERIENCE
The BAST identity extends across physical and digital touchpoints to create a cohesive and immersive brand world. From printed collateral to the website interface, each application balances clarity with atmosphere, allowing the experience to feel tactile, intentional, and fully realized.
LOOKBOOK
Through full-spread imagery and atmospheric layouts, the brand lookbook introduces the world of BAST and its offerings, from spa services and interactive play spaces to gourmet dining and video call check-ins.
WEBSITE
Designed to balance immersion with functionality, the website allows users to explore the BAST world while seamlessly booking and customizing their cat’s stay.
MENUS
Inspired by luxury dining and premium pet food branding, the menus elevate feeding into a curated culinary world. BAST Gourmet features appetizers and mains, while BAST Delights offers lighter meals and savory bites, extending the indulgence and atmosphere of the BAST world into every detail.
KEEPSAKES
Extending beyond the stay itself, the keepsakes translate the BAST world into tactile take-home objects. From woven bamboo cat houses to coat oils, grooming products, branded scratch mats, and canned gourmet meals, each piece reinforces the indulgence and atmosphere of the brand.
